Today DJ Cavem is in Uganda this month with a diverse delegation of educators and activists for the Bold Foods Fellowship. This video showcases not only Ietef’s hood but also the hometown of Checktheweather.TV co-founder Kari Fulton. Opalanga Pugh is one of Fulton’s God mothers. Pugh, a world renowned guru and artist passed away in June 2010 of Bone Cancer. Check out her bio here
WE, THE PEOPLE OF COLOR, gathered together at this multinational People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit, to begin to build a national and international movement of all peoples of color to fight the destruction and taking of our lands and communities, do hereby re-establish our spiritual interdependence to the sacredness of our Mother Earth; to respect and celebrate each of our cultures, languages and beliefs about the natural world and our roles in healing ourselves; to ensure environmental justice; to promote economic alternatives which would contribute to the development of environmentally safe livelihoods; and, to secure our political, economic and cultural liberation that has been denied for over 500 years of colonization and oppression, resulting in the poisoning of our communities and land and the genocide of our peoples, do affirm and adopt these Principles of Environmental Justice:

2011 was a year of many ups and downs. This past summer Checktheweather.TV was hacked to the point where we had to shut it all down and start over again.
We are excited to get back to bringing you the realest and freshest news, dialogue and soundtrack for saving the world. We also hope to bring back the archived stories soon so please stay posted.
In the meantime we steady building and we hope you enjoy our new growth!
